New Year, New Art, New Site

Welcome to the new Jessicahargwood.com! After a few years of existential soul searching, I decided it was time to revamp the old website and create something that felt more representative of me, not only as an artist, but as a human being. Although fairly abstract on the outside, my art is born out of deeply personal experiences and ideas. It felt necessary to have my website reflect that personal aspect and be an authentic representation of who I am.

If you’re reading this post that means you’ve found the blog section! This is where I intend to inject my personality outside of just art making. For me, making art is like writing in a diary.  However instead of putting words to a page, I express my emotions and experiences through color and brushstrokes. I hope that through reading these series of posts, along with viewing my art, you’ll gain a more complete picture of who I am and why I make the things I make. This blog will also serve as a documentation of sorts, so that I can look back and examine how events I’ve experienced at the time, impacted my creative process. I plan on posting on a monthly basis. As the mom of a 9 month old and working another job, once a month sounds less overwhelming than once a week. I post more regularly on Instagram so feel free to follow along there if you crave daily content lol. I hope you’ll follow along on this journey with me, and enjoy getting a more in-depth look into my life and process.

See you in February! <3
